Prime Minister Mark Carney launched Digital Transformation Canada, a new federal organization to improve access to government services through digital tools. He also appointed Patrick Pichette as CEO. The organization will combine digital functions across departments, modernize public-service technology, use AI responsibly, and support Canadian digital and AI firms.

Premier Accepts Marco MacLeod’s Resignation from Cabinet
Premier Tim Houston accepted Marco MacLeod’s resignation as Nova Scotia’s Energy minister after MacLeod reflected on the impact of hurtful lyrics in songs he posted online in 2013. Houston will resume the Energy portfolio, while MacLeod remains the MLA for Pictou West.
