Ontario Marks First Access to Nickel Ore at the Craig Mine Onaping Depth Expansion
Premier Doug Ford marked the first access to nickel ore at Glencore Canada’s Onaping Depth Project, a nearly $2-billion extension of the Craig Mine in Greater Sudbury. Ford said the project will expand Ontario’s nickel supply chain and support up to 400 full-time jobs when production begins in 2027.

Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a more than $11-billion contract with Chantier Davie Canada Inc. to build six Canadian Coast Guard program icebreakers at the Davie Shipyard in Lévis, Québec.
