Statement by Premier Lantz on the suspension of Canada-U.S. trade discussions and implementation of new U.S. tariffs
Premier Rob Lantz supported Canada’s suspension of trade talks with the United States, saying Canada should not accept terms that undermine industry, workers or sovereignty. Lantz said he is immediately convening Cabinet to assess the new tariffs, review supports and help Island businesses diversify markets.
